The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of two teams to express interest in former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, according to NFL.com.
The New York Jets are the other team, the report said.
Reporter Steve Wyche cites "a person with knowledge of the situation" as saying the Bucs placed an "exploratory" call "focused mainly on Burress' well-being."
The Bucs declined to comment.
Burress has legal issues stemming from a firearms incident in New York. He has a June court date and faces possible jail time after shooting himself in the leg at a nightclub with an unlicensed gun in November.
Burress was suspended by the Giants after the arrest and was later released.
