The Buccaneers' preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs tonight will be blacked out in the local television market, marking the first time in 12 years a Bucs game will not air live in the Tampa Bay area.
The blackout is expected to cover a 10-county area that falls within the Bucs' designated market area that is centered in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. The DMA runs along the state's west coast, from Citrus to Sarasota counties, and also includes Polk, Highlands and parts of Orlando.
The blackout includes restaurants and sports bars.
News Channel 8 will record the game and air it Sunday at 11 a.m.
Fans can listen to the live broadcast on the Buccaneers Radio Network, on 103.5 FM and 620 AM in Tampa Bay/Sarasota, 1450 AM in Brooksville and 1430 AM in Lakeland.
