Tampa Bay Lightning captain Vinny Lecavalier had successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday, the team announced.
Lecavalier, 30, did not have a torn meniscus, as originally believed. The joint was cleaned up by team orthopedic surgeon Ira Guttentag at the Florida Medical Clinic in Tampa.
Recovery time is estimated by the team to be 3-4 weeks. Lecavalier is expected to fully participate in training camp, which starts Sept. 17.
