The Tampa Bay Rays unveiled their new light blue alternate jersey jersey for Sunday home games on Wednesday.
The Rays become one of 16 teams with four jerseys: Home whites, road grays, navy blue alternate on selected home and road day games and now the light blue Sunday jersey.
The alternate Sunday jersey is a Columbia blue button-down with navy blue RAYS outlined in white trim across the chest and featuring the Rays sunburst. The sunburst is slightly larger than the sunburst on the home and road jerseys. Navy trim surrounds the sleeves and collar and extends down the front of the jersey. The player's name is featured on the back in white outlined in navy. The player's number is navy outlined in white.
They are on sale at raysbaseball.com and raysbeisbol.com, at the Rays Pro Shop and Ticket Outlet located at 400 N. Tampa St., the Rays merchandise store at Tropicana Field and at Champs Sports Stores. James Shields, Wade Davis, Jeff Niemann and Kelly Shoppach will appear at area Champs Sports stores to kick-start the sales.
The Rays will debut the new uniforms Sunday, April 11 when they host the New York Yankees at Tropicana Field.
Wednesday's appearance schedule: James Shields and Wade Davis 7-8 p.m. Champs Sports Store, International Plaza, Tampa; Jeff Niemann and Kelly Shoppach 7-8 p.m. Champs Sports Store, Tyrone Mall, St. Petersburg.
