For the 23rd time in school history, Miami was selected on Sunday as one of 16 sites for the NCAA Division I Baseball Championships.

The Hurricanes (40-17) will be making their NCAA record 38th straight regional appearance when play opens on Friday. UM has advanced to the College World Series 18 of the 22 times it has hosted a regional.

Florida (42-15) was also selected to host a region. It's the eighth time the Gators have been selected, including last season.

Regional winners advance to Super Regional play next week. The 64-team field for the NCAA Tournament will be announced live on ESPN at 12:30 p.m. today.

"We're extremely happy about hosting games in Gainesville,'' UF coach Kevin O'Sullivan said. "It is great news for the program, our players, the University and the fans and we appreciate the support.''

The other 14 schools chosen as host venues include: Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Cal State Fullerton, Coastal Carolina, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, TCU, Virginia and UCLA.
