Will Muschamp will make $13.7 million over five years of the contract he has agreed to, if he remains Florida's football coach for the life of the deal.
Muschamp was hired to replace Urban Meyer as the Gators' coach after his surprising resignation in December. Muschamp was the Texas defensive coordinator prior to taking the UF position.
Florida released Muschamp's contract on Thursday. He receives $750,000 as a signing incentive and will make a total of $3.25 million in 2011.
The deal is worth just over $2.5 million in 2012-14 and escalates to just over $3 million in 2015 with a $500,000 longevity bonus.
Pay includes a $250,000 base contract, paid bi-weekly. He will make $1.7 million each year from his TV and radio shows, $460,000 from equipment contracts, including Nike, an expense account of $61,000 each year plus $29,400 towards a pension.
The deal also includes a $500,000 buyout should Muschamp leave for another job.
Muschamp also has a list of incentives including: $37,500 for reaching the SEC Championship Game, $75,000 for winning the contest, $37,500 for a non-BCS bowl game, $100,000 for a BCS bowl bid (non-national title game), $150,000 from reaching the BCS national championship or $250,000 for winning the BCS national title game. AP coach of the year is worth $50,000, SEC coach of the year brings a $25,000 bonus and finishing in the Top Ten in either the USA Today or AP polls is also worth a $50,000 bonus.
