Florida coach Urban Meyer said tight end Aaron Hernandez, who also has a hyper extended knee, is feeling better from his battle with the flu. Back Jeff Demps is also feeling better but defensive end Jermaine Cunningham is struggling, still.
None tested positive for the Swine Flu. UF also vaccinated players on Sunday with the mist that is injected into the nose.
The latest person to get a touch of the flu, which has been traveling around the team is receivers coach Billy Gonzales.
Gators coach Urban Meyer said Gonzales has a temperature of 104 degrees and was sent home on Monday morning.
Media gushed at the news because Gonzales spent time with the media being interviewed on Sunday night.
"That was on purpose,'' Meyer said with a smirk.
Added Meyer of all the flu issues: "I wish I'd bought stock in Purell.''
SPIKES BETTER: Linebacker Brandon Spikes, who was limited against Tennessee with an Achilles problem, could be sharper this week at Kentucky.
"I just saw him outside, he's feeling much better,'' Urban Meyer said on Monday afternoon. "You've just got to be smart. That's one of things that linger. We've got to make sure we take care of him.''
UF is also hopeful receiver Deonte Thompson (hamstring) will be back after missing the UT game. He did some agility drills on Monday morning.
LOSING STREAKS: Florida has beaten Kentucky 22 times in a row - the second-longest streak in major college for an uninterrupted series.
UF quarterback Tim Tebow knows how UK feels . . . kind of.
"St. Augustine,'' Tebow said of his high school days at Nease. "I never beat them in high school.''
Tebow was 0-4.
"I have nothing to say to Brandon James any more,'' joked Tebow of his teammate, who played at St. Augustine High.
WHAT STREAK: On the other hand, Meyer responded to the Gators' long history of success vs. the 'Cats: "I didn't know about that. I don't want to start thinking about that crap. By the way, we went through maybe the greatest amount of nonsense in the history of college football.''
He was referencing last week's 23-13 win against Tennessee, which included an incredible amount of hype concerning Lane Kffin's first trip to Gainesville.
"Appreciate all your research, though,'' joked Meyer of being told about the streak.
SEC HONORS: UF center Maurkice Pouncey, who graded out at 93 percent in Florida's 23-13 win against Tennessee last Saturday, was named the SEC offensive lineman of the week on Monday morning.
The junior from Lakeland has graded out at 90 percent or higher in the Gators' first three games. UF plays at Kentucky (6 p.m., ESPN2) on Saturday.
GATORS SOLVED?: Kiffin said the Vols showed how to slow down Florida's high-powered offense. But Kentucky coach Rich Brooks isn't so sure.
"I think there probably are some things (UT did that others will try). Also they did some things, different fronts and things that once Florida gets a chance to look at them that blue print won't be quite as good in the future because they can make adjustments with what they are doing on their offense just as well as the defense can make adjustments,'' Brooks said.
