The Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed forward Alex Killorn, a homegrown prospect and key member of the team’s recent youth movement, general manager Steve Yzerman announced Thursday.
Killorn, 24, signed for two years and $5.1 million.
In his first full NHL season, Killorn had 17 goals and 41 points last season as one of three Lightning players to appear in all 82 regular-season games. In his NHL playoff debut, Killorn scored a goal and had an assist in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against Montreal.
A third-round pick by the Lightning in the 2007 draft, Killorn (6-foot-1, 200 pounds) has 24 career goals and 60 points. He has played 120 NHL games, all with Tampa Bay the past two seasons.
