What better way to spend a Friday afternoon than hanging with your new football coach, a champion boxer, a current NFL receiver and a former Super Bowl champion.
After school today, 15 Middleton High football players will be picked up by a limousine outside the high school to have lunch with their new head football coach Jason Stokes, Bay area native and boxer Winky Wright, Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Michael Clayton and former Bucs defensive lineman Tyrone Keys, who won a Super Bowl ring with the Chicago Bears in 1985.
Stokes and Keys organized the event.
"It's going to help develop their character," said Keys, who created All Sports Community Service, a community service organization in Tampa. "We want to bless kids with an opportunity to show them what life is like if they are successful."
Stokes, who was hired at Middleton weeks ago after one season coaching at Bloomingdale, said their intentions are to go to Busch Gardens after lunch if the weather holds up.
In September, Keys was recognized at the White House by former President Bush, along with hundreds of others, for his community involvement.
