Steinbrenner's offense rarely let up in a Class 4A-District 9 semifinal Wednesday, posting 22 shots in a 4-1 victory against Robinson at Strawberry Crest High.
In the first game, Jesuit's Brett Durrance scored two early goals and his team held on for a 2-1 victory against Lennard.
Steinbrenner and Robinson battled for 10 minutes before Spencer Siban raced down the right side before breaking toward the net. Siban put the ball through to Oliver Ortiz, who punched it in for the first of his two goals.
The second half was quiet until the last four minutes, with Anthony Melatti and Austin Renz scoring for the Warriors.
Jesuit came out with an aggressive approach and put Lennard on its heels. At the 30:54 mark, Miguel Cadavid hit a sprinting Durrance, who punched in his first goal. Durrance scored again about seven minutes later.
Lennard cut the lead in half at the 8:14 mark when captain Cesar Rodriguez took a throw-in on Jesuit's end of the field. When players converged on the net, the ball bounced off a Jesuit player and in for a Lennard goal.
The goal sparked life into Lennard, which battled Jesuit until the end.
"We weren't the same team after Lennard scored," Jesuit coach Bob Bauman told his team after the game.
Jesuit and Steinbrenner will meet in the district championship Friday.
