LAND O'LAKES - A night after scoring four goals, including the 100th of his career, Sunlake forward Jordan Landry scored four more to propel the Seahawks to a 6-0 win over the Gulf Buccaneers at the Sunlake Shootout Friday night.
Landry got things going early, setting up sophomore Conner Gilboy with a tough angle shot that beat Buccaneer goalkeeper Travis Jehs (11 saves). The Gilboy goal opened up the floodgates. Just thirty seconds later, Landry stole a pass from a Gulf defender and buried an unassisted goal for a 2-0 lead.
Less than a minute later, it was Jordan again. He scored his 102nd career goal and the Seahawks (15-4-1) led 3-0. Landry closed out the first-half scoring in the final minute. A Gilboy pass set him up, and he gave Sunlake a 4-0 lead at the break.
The second hald was more of the same, thanks to Landry and Gilboy. They each scored a goal to close out the scoring.
For Sunlake coach Sam Koleduk it's nice to have the skills and leadership of Landry. "We're a young team; we start four freshmen and two sophomores." said Kolduk. "Landry is a senior leader, so that's big for us."
