Graduating seniors were recognized in this last game of the season and it was East Bay elder classman Giovanny Loyez who made the play of the night, pouncing on a fumble at his 1-yard line. The grab stopped a Strawberry Crest drive that could have given the Chargers the lead in the second half.
Instead, the Indians took the fumble and capped a seven-play drive with a 33-yard touchdown pass from Tajee Fullwood to Brandon Byrd to give East Bay a 20-10 lead.
"A senior got the hit and senior Giovanny Loyez picked it up, so it was fitting," said East Bay coach Frank LaRosa.
"I was happy for all our seniors," he said. "We had a few big wins. We started with a win, and we ended with a win, it was definitely exciting."
Fullwood ran in a touchdown in addition to his throw.
Quantavous Gibbs carried 16 times for 156 yards, including a touchdown and a 50-yarder on the first play after the Strawberry Crest fumble.
Chargers quarterback Michael Mitchell threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns, including a 50-yard pass to Karel Hamilton.
