The mistakes piled up as fast as the points as Blake and Spoto ran up and down the field, exchanging four leads in a wild Class 5A-District 8 matchup that lasted more than three hours.
If it wasn't an interception (the teams combined for five), it was lost fumbles (four combined), untimely penalties that kept drives alive, or blown coverages that led to long plays (seven plays went for more than 30 yards).
In the end, Spoto took the most advantage of Blake's miscues, scoring three of its touchdowns after getting the ball deep in Blake territory — two times after fumbles (on the 20- and 1-yard lines) and once after a shanked punt (at Blake's 16-yard line).
Spoto's Eric Moate led the way with 14 carries for 162 yards and four touchdowns on runs of 5, 9, 18 and 28 yards.
In the first half, it looked like Blake quarterback Zain Gilmore might make the biggest difference as he completed 15 of 27 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns.
