Calvary Christian racked up over 400 yards of offense en route to a Class 2A-District 5 victory over Cambridge Christian.
Despite being down by two touchdowns in the first half, the Lancers fired back at the start of the second half with a quick 15-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Phillip Johnson to Daniel Hamilton.
Junior running back Derek Barnes helped the Warriors control the time of possession all night, getting help from his offensive line to run for 256 yards and two scores.
"They all played hard tonight," Warriors head coach Dave Bonchi said. "This is probably the most complete game I’ve gotten out of my team in the year and a half that I’ve been here."
The Lancers received a spark in the middle of the fourth quarter when Robbie Robertson returned a Warriors kickoff for a 70-yard touchdown. Hamilton also scored on a 2-yard run, but it would not be enough to come back against Calvary, which scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away.
