Blake's defense held Gibbs to two touchdowns and 158 total yards as the Yellow Jackets earned their fourth win.
Blake junior Javon Kitchen blocked Gibbs' first punt of the night and also had an interception at the start of the second half.
"You got to tell your guys to keep their composure," said Blake head coach Harry Hubbard. "We told our guys, this is the season right here, and you're either going to win it or you're going to lose it."
After a scoreless first quarter, Blake quarterback Zane Gilmore threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to senior Earvin Williams, giving the Yellow Jackets a lead they would not relinquish.
"We knew they were going to blitz us," Gilmore said. "So we stuck with quick routes and made our guys make big plays."
Blake's DeAndre James ran for an 84-yard touchdown with 2:59 left to play in the fourth quarter, but it was called back because of a personal foul.
After punting to its 44-yard line, the Blake defense had 2 minutes, 7 seconds left to keep Gibbs out of the end zone. On fourth down, Gibbs quarterback Patric Jones completed a pass that fell 1-yard short of the first down.
