Tyrel Nunn's 25-yard pass to freshman Eddie McClarty gave the Patriots an overtime win over Wiregrass Ranch.
The Bulls drove to the 1-yard line on their overtime possession but were stopped twice by the Patriots. After penalties pushed Freedom back to the 25-yard line, Patriots' quarterback Taylor King pitched out to Nunn who threw to McClarty for the game-winning score.
Freedom scored twice in the second quarter on a 58-yard run from Nate Godwin and a 36-yard pass to Deven Turner from King. King was 10 of 13 for 131 yards.
The Bulls' Jamel Nunez rushed 20 times for 110 yards and a score while running mate Eli Galvan totaled 161 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown.
The win ends Freedom's season. The Patriots finished 2-8. Its only other victory came against one-win Chamberlain, whose only triumph came against winless Wiregrass Ranch.
For Wiregrass Ranch, the Bulls almost matched their point total for the season. Heading into the game, Wiregrass Ranch had only scored 19 points. The Bulls host Zephyrhills next week to close the season.
