Sophomore quarterback Alex McGough completed 12 of 16 passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns with one interception to lead Gaither to its fourth consecutive win.
"I didn't know these guys at the beginning of the year; now I do," McGough said about his teammates. "We've worked on getting quick releases (passing) and it's the key to success."
The Gaither defense held Freedom to minus-35 yards rushing and had seven quarterback sacks, including four by linebacker Josh Scarberry.
"The defense was outstanding," Gaither coach Jason Stokes said. "They practice and play with high intensity and it shows when they come to the field."
Dalton Gilson kicked a 23-yard field goal, Vu Le had a 20-yard touchdown run and McGough threw a 14-yard TD pass to Le to give Gaither a 16-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
McGough hit Demarcus Sexil with an 8-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, giving the Cowboys a 23-0 lead.
In the third quarter, McGough scored twice with a a 7-yard pass to Sexil for a TD and a 1-yard scoring run.
