Brandon raced to a 28-6 halftime lead and used its reserves to coast to a victory against the Sharks.
Tyrell Garner ran for 161 yards on 12 carries and scored touchdowns on 7, 15 and 79 yards. On two of his runs, he hurdled players en route to his destination.
Riverview scored on its opening drive and its last drive.
The Sharks were paced by Steven Maines, who ran for 157 yards on 18 carries. He scored the team’s second touchdown by racing 63 yards down the middle of the field. Maines now has 614 yards for the season.
Only 11 pases were attempted the entire game. Brandon rushed for 346 yards, while Riverview had 216 yards on the ground.
Brandon rushed 10 different players on the night. Two long runs were brought back as the result of penalties.
It was the final home game for Riverview, which finishes up with three road games (Newsome, Durant and Gaither). Brandon plays at Plant City next Friday, and then has home games with East Bay and Jefferson.
