Carrollwood Day showed plenty of high-flying offense, but couldn't stop Admiral Farragut's Todd Macon.
The junior running back dazzled with 243 yards and four touchdowns on 26 carries, helping the Blue Jackets run to a nail-biting Class 2A-District 5 victory in the team's first meeting with the Patriots.
"(Macon) put the team on his back and kept fighting," Blue Jacket head coach Chris Miller said. "I couldn't ask for a better game from him, but overall it was a total team effort."
Carrollwood Day's Robert Davis also lit up the stat sheet with five touchdown runs for 322 yards and an interception.
However, Admiral Farragut was able to erase a 27-point deficit after the first quarter. Carrollwood Day led 41-34 at the end of three quarters before Macon scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Carrollwood Day returns to action on Friday when it plays at St. Petersburg Canterbury.
