Juan Cruz, who went 6-0 with a 3.88 ERA for the Tampa Bay Rays last season, has signed a minor-league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The deal comes with an invitation to spring training.
The right-handed reliever made 56 appearances with the Rays last season.
He previously pitched for the Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks and Kansas City Royals.
