Cincy knocks off No. 13 UConn

Sean Kilpatrick hit a 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds left and Cincinnati beat No. 13 Connecticut 70-67 on Wednesday night for its seventh straight road victory in the Big East.

Kilpatrick scored 16 points to lead five Bearcats in double figures as Cincinnati (15-4, 5-1 Big East) withstood two big UConn (14-4, 4-3) second-half runs and a half-court shot by Niels Giffey at the buzzer that rimmed out.

Cashmere Wright and Yancy Gates each had 13 points for Cincinnati. Shabazz Napier had a career-high 27 points to lead Connecticut.

NEBRASKA 70, NO. 11 INDIANA 69: Jorge Brian Diaz made two free throws with 11 seconds left to give host Nebraska the lead, Indiana couldn't score on its last possession, and the struggling Cornhuskers (10-8, 2-5 Big Ten) handed the Hoosiers (15-3, 3-4) their third straight loss.

Indiana squandered a 13-point, second-half lead as Nebraska posted its biggest victory as a new member of the Big Ten.

Bo Spencer led the Huskers with 23 points, Toney McCray had 11 and Diaz and Dylan Talley 10 apiece. Cody Zeller led the Hoosiers with 18 points.

NO. 12 MURRAY ST. 66, MOREHEAD ST. 60: Isaiah Canaan scored 20 points and undefeated Murray State (19-0, 7-0) beat host Morehead State (9-11, 3-4) in its toughest Ohio Valley Conference challenge so far.

Murray State trailed by nine with just under 13 minutes to play before rallying behind Canaan and Donte Poole, who added 15 points, to remain one of two unbeaten teams in men's Division I basketball along with No. 1 Syracuse.

Drew Kelly scored 20 points for Morehead State.

The Eagles led 46-37 after a basket by Milton Chavis, but the Racers rallied, using a 10-0 run to take the lead against the defending OVC tournament champions.

NO. 19 CREIGHTON 66, MISSOURI ST. 65: Gregory Echenique scored 16 points, and Doug McDermott added 15 to help the Bluejays (17-2, 7-1 Missouri Valley Conference) beat Missouri State (11-9, 4-4).

MIAMI 76, CLEMSON 73: Malcolm Grant scored 16 points and made the game-clinching interception with less than 5 seconds left to help the host Hurricanes (10-6, 1-2 ACC) beat Clemson (9-9, 1-3).

UM freshman Shane Larkin sank both ends of a one-and-one with 5.4 seconds to go. Grant then picked off a pass by Tanner Smith.

FLA. SOUTHERN 97, TAMPA 71: The Moccasins (10-5, 4-3) hit 50 percent from the floor to defeat the host Spartans (4-12, 0-7) in a Sunshine State Conference game.

Four Spartans scored in double figures, led by Stefon Barfield with 13 points.

Women

NO. 1 BAYLOR 72, TEXAS TECH 64: Brittney Griner scored 21 points to lead the Bears (18-0, 5-0) past the Lady Raiders (14-3, 2-3).

Destiny Williams scored 16 points and got a career-high 16 rebounds for Baylor. Christine Hyde scored 15 points to lead the Lady Raiders.

NO. 5 DUKE 79, GA. TECH 62: Elizabeth Williams had 20 points and 11 rebounds as visiting Duke (15-2, 5-0 ACC) won its ninth straight game.

The Blue Devils have beaten Georgia Tech (13-6, 3-3) 34 straight times and haven't lost to the Yellow Jackets since Feb. 27, 1994.

NO. 14 TEXAS A&M 78, MISSOURI 52: Sydney Carter and Adaora Elonu each scored 16 points and the host Aggies (12-4, 3-2) beat the Tigers (10-6, 0-5 Big 12) to give coach Gary Blair his 200th win with Texas A&M.

NO. 18 LOUISVILLE 64, PROVIDENCE 48: Freshman Bria Smith scored 12 points and the host Cardinals (15-4, 4-2 Big East) defeated the Friars (10-9, 2-4).

FLA. SOUTHERN 56, TAMPA 51: Jaleesa Harmon scored 19 points, but host Tampa (7-9, 1-6 SSC) couldn't protect a 15-point lead. Morgan Lamberg and Michaela Hawley led Florida Southern (13-3, 5-2) with 14 points apiece.
