Illinois Snaps Badgers' Streak

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Rashard Mendenhall led Illinois into unfamiliar territory, rushing for 160 yards and scoring two touchdowns in the Illini's 31-26 win against No. 5 Wisconsin (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) on Saturday.

The Illini ended Wisconsin's 14-game winning streak, the longest in the nation, and improved to 5-1 overall. Illinois is off to a 3-0 start in the Big Ten for the first time since 1990.

OHIO STATE 23, PURDUE 7: Todd Boeckman passed for 200 yards and two TDs as No. 4 Ohio State (6-0, 3-0) beat No. 23 Purdue (5-1, 1-1).

PENN STATE 27, IOWA 7: Anthony Morelli threw for 233 yards and a TD, Rodney Kinlaw ran for a career-high 168 yards and two scores and Penn State (4-2, 1-2) shut down the visiting Hawkeyes (2-4, 0-3).

NORTHWESTERN 48, MICHIGAN STATE 41: C.J. Bacher threw for a school-record 520 yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, and visiting Northwestern (3-3, 1-2 Big Ten) scored a wild victory against Michigan State (4-2, 0-2).

INDIANA 40, MINNESOTA 20: Bryan Payton rushed for a career-high 90 yards and three touchdowns, and Austin Starr tied a single-game school record with four field goals to help host Indiana (5-1, 2-1) rout Minnesota (1-5, 0-3).

MICHIGAN 33, EASTERN MICHIGAN 22: Mike Hart ran for 215 yards to become Michigan's career rushing leader, and matched a career high with three TDs to lead the host Wolverines (4-2) past Eastern Michigan (2-4). Hart has 4,655 yards, surpassing Anthony Thomas' record of 4,472.

OKLAHOMA 28, TEXAS 21: Facing a tough foe in a hostile setting, Oklahoma freshman Sam Bradford looked as at ease as he did in his record-setting first few games against outmatched teams, throwing for three touchdowns and hardly making a mistake to steer No. 10 Oklahoma (5-1, 1-1) past No. 19 Texas (4-2, 0-2) in their annual grudge match in Dallas.

KANSAS 30, KANSAS STATE 24: Todd Reesing threw for 267 yards and three TDs and Kansas overcame some potentially ruinous mistakes to beat No. 24 Kansas State (2-3, 1-1) and start a season 5-0 for just the third time in 39 years. Kansas is 1-0 in the Big 12.

TEXAS TECH 42, IOWA STATE 17: Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree set an NCAA record for receiving touchdowns by a freshman (17) in his sixth straight multiple-TD game, a Red Raiders (4-1, 1-1) victory against visiting Iowa State (1-5, 0-2).

COLORADO 43, BAYLOR 23: Demetrius Sumler scored three TDs, Kevin Eberhart kicked four field goals and Colorado (4-2, 2-0) beat host Baylor (3-3, 0-2).

TEXAS A&M 24, OKLAHOMA STATE 23: Jorvorskie Lane rushed for two TDs and had his first TD catch as Texas A&M (5-1, 2-0) matched its largest comeback ever, rallying from 17 points down to beat visiting Oklahoma State (3-3, 1-1).

NOTRE DAME 20, UCLA 6: Jimmy Clausen scored on a sneak and Maurice Crum returned a fumble 34 yards for another TD during a 50-second span of the third quarter and Notre Dame (1-5) won for the first time this season, beating host UCLA (4-2). The win snapped an eight-game losing streak.

ARIZONA STATE 23, WASHINGTON STATE 20: Thomas Weber kicked a 37-yard field goal with 50 seconds left to lift No. 18 Arizona State (6-0, 3-0) past host Washington State (2-4, 0-3).

OREGON STATE 31, ARIZONA 16: Yvenson Bernard ran for 140 yards and scored three TDs as host Oregon State (3-3, 1-2) beat Arizona (2-4, 1-2).
