This week's Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am, the Champions Tour's annual stop in the Bay area, will serve up plenty of new faces as the 50-and-older circuit heads to TPC Tampa Bay in Lutz.
Two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer headlines an accomplished group of players playing the event for the first time.
Others making their first appearance at TPC Tampa Bay include Ian Woosnam, Jeff Sluman, John Cook, Mark Wiebe, Donnie Hammond, Fulton Allem, Joey Sindelar and Mike Hulbert.
Tom Watson, who had been 0-for-93 in PGA Tour or Champions Tour events in Florida before winning by one shot over Jay Haas in brutally cold conditions last year, returns to defend his title.
Six players in the 76-player field - Langer, Mark O'Meara, Craig Stadler, Watson, Ian Woosnam and Fuzzy Zoeller - will arrive in Lutz after having played in the 72nd Masters. Woosnam, the 1991 Masters winner, had the best showing, finishing 44th.
Even though fan-favorite Bill Murray was not able to return to defend his pro-am title because of a scheduling conflict, the tournament did land fellow comedian/actor George Lopez, like Murray a regular at the PGA Tour's Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Bucs defensive stalwarts Ronde Barber and Derrick Brooks, who have become regulars since the tournament debuted its pro-am format in 2004, also return.
