No. 9 Baylor Women Cruise To Victory

WACO, Texas - Rachel Allison had 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead No. 9 Baylor to an 84-57 win over Texas State on Friday night.

Angela Tisdale added 19 points, Jessica Morrow 12 and Jhasmin Player 11 for Baylor (12-1).

Victoria Davis and Tamarra Evans-Sluga each scored 13 for Texas State (6-7) and Joyce Ekworomadu had 10 points.

Tisdale converted a 3-point play and made two more free throws and Morrow hit a 3-pointer to stretch Baylor's two-point lead into a 35-25 advantage with 3:10 left in the first half.

Allison scored six during a 10-2 run to open the second half and gave the Bears a 51-33 lead with 15:56 remaining.

Baylor scored six of its first nine points from the free-throw line as Texas State committed three fouls before scoring its first point. The Bobcats were whistled for 31 fouls and Baylor made 32 of 41 free throws.

TEXAS 91, TEXAS PAN-AM 43: Ashley Lindsey scored 11 of her 13 points in the first half to help No. 16 Texas run away from Texas-Pan American.

Texas (12-2) extended its winning streak to 10 games for the first time since taking 17 straight in 2003-04.

LeKeisha Gray scored 21 points to lead the Broncos (8-8).

Kathleen Nash had 11 points and seven rebounds for Texas, which matched a season high with 51 first-half points and topped 90 for the fifth time this season.

Texas point guard Carla Cortijo injured her left shoulder early in the first half and left the game for X-rays. Her status will not be known until today.

COLORADO 65, PEPPERDINE 53: Jackie McFarland had 19 points and eight rebounds to help the No. 23 Buffaloes win their 10th straight.

Bianca Smith added 18 points and Brittany Spears had 16 for Colorado (11-2) which is off to its best start since beginning the 2003-04 season 12-1. Daphanie Kennedy led Pepperdine (5-8) with 15 points.

OHIO STATE: The No. 21 Buckeyes will not have junior forward Star Allen for the rest of the season after she was declared academically ineligible on Friday.

Allen, a starting forward for the three-time defending Big Ten champion Buckeyes, started 10 of 12 games this season while averaging 8.6 points and 7.1 rebounds.
