That Super Bowl Seat May Cost You $1,000

That Feb. 1 shindig at Raymond James Stadium has already made history: the first $1,000 ticket in Super Bowl annals.

The NFL set its 2009 Super Bowl ticket prices at $800 and $1,000 Wednesday, establishing a record for a face value seat to attend the league's showcase event.

Last year's price tier for Super Bowl tickets was $700 and $900.

Brian McCarthy, the league's VP of Corporate Communications, said the NFL is working on plans to offer a limited number of tickets at a lower price for the Feb. 1 matchup between the champions of the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference.
