Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer says he's pleased with the support he's received from the Volunteers athletic administration, boosters and players as the team has struggled this season.
Fulmer said at the Vols' Wednesday practice that he's aware there's plenty of concern from fans about whether the team can turn the season around after opening 2-4 with losses in its first three Southeastern Conference games.
The coach says he's been meeting regularly with Athletic Director Mike Hamilton, as he does every season, and Hamilton has expressed confidence that the season will improve.
Fulmer says his players have bounced back well and have had a lot of energy this week in practice as they've practiced with more contact and full-speed drills.
The Vols face Mississippi State (2-4, 1-2) at Neyland Stadium on Saturday night.
