Bolts to have at least 69 games broadcast locally

TAMPA - The Lightning season-opener on Oct. 3 in Atlanta kicks off a 65-game television schedule on Sun Sports for the 2009-10 season.

With four games scheduled to be on national TV, either on Versus or NBC, Tampa Bay will have at least 69 of its 82 games broadcast in Tampa. The Lightning will appear on Versus Jan. 19 at the New York Rangers and March 2 at Philadelphia while Tampa Bay is part of NBC planned coverage Jan. 31 against Washington and March 14 against defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh.

Each game on Sun Sports will feature a 30-minute pregame show and a postgame show. The broadcasting team of Rick Peckham and Bobby "The Chief'' Taylor return for their 14th year together calling Lightning games while sideline reporter and pregame host Paul Kennedy also returns. New to the broadcast team will be feature reporter Angela Jacobs, who serves as sports anchor for WTSP, Channel 10. Also resuming their analyst roles during home broadcasts are 2004 Lightning Stanley Cup champions Dave Andreychuk and Chris Dingman, who will split providing pregame, intermission and postgame commentary on all home telecast.

Sun Sports will also air a preseason special, hosted by Kennedy, beginning on Sept. 28 at 5:30 p.m.

A full schedule for games telecast in High-Definition will be released at a later date.
