The Chiefs selected Ole Miss offensive threat Dexter McCluster (Largo High) with their first pick, 36th overall, in the second round.
Fourteen picks later, the Chiefs took another Tampa Bay-area player, Alabama cornerback/return specialist Javier Arenas (Robinson).
The 5-foot-8, 165-pound McCluster could be used in a variety of ways, as a receiver, running back or on returns. The Chiefs most likely will ask him to return kicks since they already have two running backs coming off 1,000-yard rushing seasons - Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones.
Coaches in the Southeastern Conference listed McCluster as all-conference as both a running back and receiver.
Arenas, like McCluster, is undersized. He's only 5-8 and 197 pounds, so he may best be suited as a nickel back.
