The Lightning traded defenseman Matt Lashoff to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a pair of prospects, right wing Alex Berry and forward Stefano Giliati, Tampa Bay general manager Steve Yzerman announced Friday.
Berry, 6-foot-2, 212 pounds, played 55 games last season with Toronto's affiliate in the American Hockey League, recording three goals, seven points and 97 penalty minutes. He was a fifth-round draft pick in 2005.
Giliati, 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, has played 78 career AHL games, recording nine goals, 24 points and 24 penalty minutes. He signed with Toronto as a free agent in 2008.
Lashoff, a former first-round draft pick of the Boston Bruins, was acquired by Tampa Bay in the 2008-09 trade-deadline deal that sent Mark Recchi to Boston. He played 17 games for the Lightning.
