Class 6A-8
TEAMS: Alonso, Bloomingdale, Brandon, Plant, Wharton
OUTLOOK: Brandon hasn't reached the postseason since 2008, when the Eagles advanced to the 5A state semifinals. After starting the season 1-7, the Eagles made a push during the second half of the season to earn the second seed. Wharton went undefeated in district play to clinch the top seed and could face fourth-seed Bloomingdale in the semifinals, a team that nearly upset the Wildcats at home weeks ago.
Class 5A-9
TEAMS: Chamberlain, Freedom, Gaither, Hillsborough, King, Leto, Sickles
OUTLOOK: Sickles owns arguably the most talented backcourt in the county with Monmouth-commit Jordan Davis and junior Rashawn Rembert. With its upset vs. Sickles during the second half of the season, Hillsborough earned the second seed and a first-round bye. King, which reached the 5A state semifinals last season, has been led by junior Reshard Brown (18 ppg).
Class 5A-8
TEAMS: Armwood, Durant, East Bay, Newsome, Plant City, Riverview, Tampa Bay Tech
OUTLOOK: Newsome, Plant City and Durant were tied for first place until Newsome's loss to Tampa Bay Tech gave Plant City the top seed. Probably the most talented district in the county, one thing for sure is both semifinal games will go down to the wire.
Class 4A-9
TEAMS: Blake, Jefferson, Jesuit, Lennard, Middleton, Robinson, Spoto, Steinbrenner, Strawberry Crest
OUTLOOK: Blake went undefeated in district play, led by junior guard Andre Smith (17.9 ppg). Spoto, which is enjoying its best season in program history, has been led by the tandem of Karl Beasley (21.0 ppg) and Jamarius McGraw (9.6 ppg). The Spartans should meet Jesuit again in the semifinals. During the season, Spoto defeated the Tigers 48-47.
Class 3A-10
TEAMS: Berkeley Prep, Clearwater Central Catholic, St. Petersburg Catholic, Tampa Catholic
OUTLOOK: Berkeley Prep won the coin toss to decide the top seed vs. Tampa Catholic. The two teams split during the regular season and have been led by two of the top guards in the county with Berkeley's Nelson Agholor (10.4 ppg) and Tampa Catholic's Lashawn Harrison (19.8).
Class 2A-10
TEAMS: Bishop McLaughlin, Calvary Christian, Indian Rocks Christian, Tampa Prep
OUTLOOK: Tampa Prep easily won the top seed, winning its district games by an average of 43.5 points. The Terrapins have been led Jay Bowie (15.4), Jamal Cherry (13.6) and Devontae Morgan (10.5).
Class 1A-9
TEAMS: Academy at the Lakes, Cambridge Christian, Canterbury, Keswick Christian, Lakeland Christian, Tampa Bay Christian
OUTLOOK: Four players are averaging double-digit points for Cambridge this season, led by 6-foot-8 junior center Cameron Brown (18.8 ppg, 8.1 rpg). The Lancers went undefeated in district play and beat district opponents by an average of 45.6 points per game.
Class 1A-8
TEAMS: Bayshore Christian, Bradenton Christian, Citrus Park Christian, Hernando Christian, Seffner Christian
OUTLOOK: Bradenton Christian, which reached the 1A state semifinals last season, went undefeated in district play to earn the top seed. Rivals Bayshore Christian and Seffner Christian will meet for the third time this season in the semifinals. Bayshore has been led by 6-4 senior Fred Lewis, who leads all scorers in the county with 26.4 points per game.
