The defending Florida State League champion Tampa Yankees wrapped up their series against the Dunedin Blue Jays late Wednesday night, taking a 7-0 victory to sweep the three-game series.
Tampa had 16 hits in the game, which was held up by two rain delays totaling 2 1/2 hours. Bradley Suttle led the way with three doubles and two RBIs, while Jose Gil had three singles and two RBIs.
The first two games of the five-game FSL championship series will be played at Charlotte, which survived a long rain delay Thursday night to knock off Bradenton, 2-1, to advance to the FSL championship round for the second straight year.
Charlotte's win set up a rematch between the Yankees and the Rays' FSL affiliate. Tampa beat Charlotte in five games to win the 2009 championship.
