Forced to play down a man for the final 20 minutes in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, FC Tampa Bay let a late lead slip away to draw 1-1 with the Puerto Rico Islanders on Saturday.
FC Tampa Bay (4-5-6) winger Pascal Millien received a yellow card and was ejected from the match for a challenge in the 70th minute.
Puerto Rico (6-4-5) midfielder David Foley scored the tying goal in the 81st minute to extend the Islanders' unbeaten streak to five games.
Tampa Bay midfielder Tsuyoshi Yoshitake was forced out of the game less than 10 minutes after kickoff with a hamstring injury. Forward Warren Ukah replaced him in the 12th minute.
Millien helped FC Tampa Bay to a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute, setting up forward Aaron King for his second goal in two games.
FC Tampa Bay gave up the crucial goal after two Islanders collided in front of the net and the ball bounced across the face of the goal into the path of Foley, who put it past a diving Jeff Attinella.
