Howard sparks Magic

Dwight Howard scored 19 points, had 16 rebounds and blocked eight shots Friday night as the Orlando Magic beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 102-94.

Jason Richardson added 19 points in his first action in two games after resting a sore knee.

Orlando was without forward Glen Davis, who was suspended for two games for conduct detrimental to the team.

Coach Stan Van Gundy acknowledged that a verbal incident took place at the team's walkthrough Friday morning, but he denied anything physical occurred between them.

MAVERICKS: Owner Mark Cuban and coach Rick Carlisle were fined by the NBA after they became upset with the officiating in Wednesday's loss to Oklahoma City. Carlisle was fined $35,000 for kicking a ball into the stands, and Cuban was fined $75,000 for his critical remarks about the officiating.

TRAIL BLAZERS: Center Greg Oden underwent an arthroscopic procedure to "remove debris" from his right knee. The oft-injured No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft hasn't played in two years.
