Because so many people are walking around in Ybor City tonight, Tampa Police are shutting down 7th Avenue to vehicle traffic.
Police are closing the avenue from 15th Street to 21st Street, said Tampa Police spokesman Lt. William Ferguson.
"The officers are saying there is heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic and we are shutting it down to avoid anyone getting hit," he said.
The avenue will be shut from now until 3:30 a.m., he said.
Parking garages at 15th Street and 6th Avenue and Nuccio Parkway and Palm Avenue are not affected, Ferguson said.
