Pirating Up?

A total of 784 marine-related thefts were reported by state and local law enforcement entities for the reporting period (Jan - Sept '07); a 22 % increase in theft reports from last year. Stolen vessels account for 492 of these reports; 292 being stolen boat parts. South and central Florida continue to be the areas with the highest numbers of reported thefts.
