TBO.com staff analyzed 2010 FCAT school grades in four Tampa Bay area counties: Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Polk. We sorted the schools by Zip code and assigned a standard grade-point for each school’s letter grade – a 4.0 for an A, 3.0 for a B and so on. Then we calculated a GPA for each Zip code. Some schools did not factor into the analysis – schools with incomplete grades, schools that are too small to receive a letter grade.
