Information on permits applied for and issued is for the 12 months ended June 30, 2009. It comes from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Research, Division of Licensing. Total permits per 100,000 population is from Tribune research, based on July 31, 2009, state permit data and April 1, 2009, population estimates from the University of Florida.
