About this data
Scoring is by the Florida Department of Education. The provider rating is based on how well-prepared children are for kindergarten. Some centers were not graded: those with fewer than 10 children, where fewer than four children were screened on one or more measures, and where fewer than four children completed 70 percent of the program. Children are tested on alphabet recognition, sound recognition and classroom readiness at the end of the program. Low-performing providers are put on probation and must submit an action plan.
