Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised locally for presidential candidates. Through 2007, Barack Obama raised $315,551 in Hillsborough County, compared to $186,437 for Hillary Rodham Clinton; in Pasco, Obama raised $15,122 compared to $10,705 for Clinton, and in Polk, Clinton raised $30,895 compared to $7,961 for Obama.
Republican candidate John McCain raised $103,997 in Hillsborough County, $6,894 in Pasco County and $7,779 in Polk County through the end of the year.
