Prior to her arrival at News Channel 8, Alicia worked as a weekend reporter for NBC 10 in Philadelphia. She also hosted various community programs throughout the city including the annual Mummer's Day Competition at the Convention Center and served as a host for national and international fundraising telecasts at WYBE Public Television.
Alicia holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Temple University as well as a Master of Science Degree in Public Communications from Drexel University.
Alicia was born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia.
In 2003, she was crowned Miss Philadelphia and went on to finish as first-runner up at the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant. During her year of service, Alicia made more than 125 appearances on behalf of charitable organizations including Make-A-Wish Foundation, Red Cross and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. In addition, she had the opportunity to address the Pennsylvania Senate and House of Representatives to lobby for greater funding and volunteer resources for her platform, Big Brothers Big Sisters. Alicia still volunteers with the Miss America Organization as a judge and contestant mentor.
Alicia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, usually centered around cooking a huge Italian meal. Her claims to fame are her stuffed shells and homemade tomato sauce. She also loves to run, and hopes one day to complete a marathon. Alicia currently resides in Hillsborough County.
