Who knew that kiddie flag football could become big business? I9 Sports, a Brandon youth sports company dreamed up by a 39-year-old sports fanatic, has grown to 115 franchises in 28 states. I recently read an article in the Highlands Today about the Sebring Sports Complex. In the article it was mentioned that they were taking donations to do a memorial in honor of John Grill, but the complex manager was unclear on what they should do to honor Mr. Grill. In my opinion we should honor him in the best way we can: name the complex after him. The complex should become "John Grill Memorial Softball Complex." There is no other person who deserves the honor like he does. Sebring would not have a sports complex or even an adult softball league if it weren't for John. He pushed for many years to get an organized adult sports league here in the county. He was on the recreational committee board (and I'm sure many others) and went to all the meetings and he was determined to succeed in bringing us the adult sports complex.
