The animosity over homosexual marriage is basically over secular concept and religious belief. Here in the United States, Christians are in the vast majority and make up nearly 80 percent of the population. Accordingly, their lives, albeit in various degree, are led by the teachings of the church and Holy Bible. The Bible is considered the word of God and Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 makes it crystal clear that homosexuality is an abomination. ...more

With regards to marriage the book of Mark 10:6-9 relates what Jesus told his disciples. "From the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. And they shall be one flesh, so then they are no more twain but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together let not man put asunder." Marriage to Christians is a sacrament given from God. ...more
