Anheuser-Busch's storied brewing history includes a Tampa footnote. The nation's largest brewer made its Budweiser and other beers at a small plant on the grounds of what would become Busch Gardens starting in 1959. The original "theme park" was a beer garden where patrons could enjoy free Bud products from the plant while watching an exotic bird show and the Busch family's own animal collection at Busch Boulevard and 30th Street. ...more

The turkey to be pardoned by President Bush is going to Disney World. When the president performs the 60th annual "pardoning of the turkey" ritual today, the winning Thanksgiving bird will get a first-class flight to Orlando on a United Airlines jet and will have a red-carpet entry to Walt Disney World. Visitors to Magic Kingdom can see the bird on Thanksgiving Day. ...more
