Thousands of people in Highlands County, apparently in record numbers, took advantage of early voting and cast their ballots. That's good because it reduces the number of people who show up on election day, which reduces congestion at the precincts. The Presidential Preference Primary Election is Tuesday. It seems ironic that the political party that claimed to want every Florida vote to count in 2000 now thinks Florida voters no longer matter. In the hectic days following the 2000 election, Democrats were so desperate for votes in Florida they were arguing that under-votes ballots with no presidential candidate selected should be counted as a vote for Al Gore. ...more
