Supermarket managers at Publix have new troublemakers to chase down besides the usual shoplifters: kids running through the store in chicken suits. Bored or rebellious - and with way too much time on their hands - young people are arming themselves with video cameras and cell phone cameras and creating all sorts of mayhem at stores. Preston Parker's legal problems are continuing less than a month after his was kicked off Florida State University's football team. Parker was charged with DUI by Tallahassee police in January. That arrest violated his probation in a Palm Beach County case, and a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Parker turned himself in Sunday night, and he was being held in the Palm Beach County jail, according to the sheriff's office Web site. ...more

The Indianapolis-based appliance and electronics chain HHGregg is finishing its first local store in the Market Square shopping center near Interstate 75 and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in New Tampa. It's also scouting other potential store sites around the Bay area, but hasn't yet committed to any other new stores other than one in Sarasota.
