I refer to the article by Leonard Pitts, "We've Lost Sight of Christ's Love," printed in the Tampa Tribune on May 1. After reading the article carefully, I conclude that Mr. Pitts agrees with James Lawson, that modern Christianity is wrong in opposing a certain "alternate lifestyle" so vehemently. I also am displeased with much of "modern Christianity." I prefer what I would call "old fashioned Christianity." At the same time, I oppose the premise that Christians are the only ones who dare not protest what they are firmly convinced is sin! ...more

I have read in the Highlands Today about "God" opinions. Who is it that made the earth? Was it man? No! God made the earth. Man is destroying this earth, not God. When I read about the war in Iraq, and how brutal it is, I think about how brutal that nation has been throughout history. The Bible has a very vivid description of Babylon, or modern day Iraq. Habakkuk 1:6 describes them as "a cruel and violent people." This was written in 600 B.C., or over 2,600 years ago. That description should not surprise us today. The Lord will be in charge till the end, but for now we must control their violence. The nations surrounding Iraq will not have peace as long as this culture of violence exists. ...more
