You have to wonder what John Allen would think. Allen, the first president of the University of South Florida, was determined to create a different state university; one that focused on academics. To that end he argued against big-time sports programs, especially football. Of course that was so long ago the Bulls weren't even the Golden Brahmans yet. OKEECHOBEE – Despite a valiant fourth-quarter comeback, the Avon Park boys basketball team fell to Okeechobee 57-55 on Saturday night in the Brahman gym. Early foul trouble forced the Red Devils to sit freshman Alonzo Robertson, who finished with 11 points, and Tim Dennis, who did a good job on the boards.
