Area potters are fired-up about participating in the Florida Westcoast Ceramics Society's second Tour De Clay. The event allows potters and those interested in its creative process to see clay artists creating in their studios. It has been a quarter of a century of a little help from their friends. To say thank you, Ira Burhans and Barbara Melby-Burhans are marking the 25th anniversary of their partnership, known as Clay and Paper, by exhibiting the work of 25 of their friends. The exhibit will be in Clay and Paper/Painted Fish Gallery, the downtown Dunedin art gallery they share with fellow artists Linda and Bill Renc. It will run from Jan. 3 until Feb. 8. ...more

More than two decades ago, Margaret Hluch lived in Kenya and taught weaving. Area residents will get a chance to view her fiber art at a show running from Friday, June 20, through Sunday, Aug. 3, at Clay and Paper, an art gallery in Dunedin. Owners Barbara Melby-Burhans and Ira Burhans are old friends of Hluch. The three studied art at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn., in the 1980s. ...more
