LOS ANGELES - Jack Black's Po the panda outgunned Adam Sandler's Zo the hairdresser. Black's cartoon comedy "Kung Fu Panda" pulled in $60 million in ticket sales to debut as the weekend's No. 1 movie, while Sandler's salon romp "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" opened in second place with $40 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. ...more

SEBRING — Women have been waiting for the return of "Sex and the City" since it left the air, and many are pulling out all the stops for today's movie premiere. For the chick flick of the summer, women will be heading to the theaters with their favorite heels, their fabulous purses and – the best accessory of all – their girlfriends. Jeri Wohl and 10 of her friends will be going to the movie in style – taking a limo to a fancy premiere party in Orlando, hosted by her daughter, Casey Wohl, author of "Getaway Girl" books. A few days ago, I re-watched one of my all-time favorite movies, "Pretty Woman." Though I've seen it umpteen times it still makes me laugh and cry and feel good all over. For me, it is the ultimate chick-flick. But "Pretty Woman" isn't just another love story. Yes, Julia Roberts and Richard Gere are magic together, and the story is laugh-out-loud funny, but there's much more to it than that. This movie has stayed popular for more than a decade because it's a story of how love transforms the people who share it. Vivian, a streetwalker with no future, meets Edward, a lonely, heartless business tycoon. To keep from getting hurt, both of them have closed their hearts to the people around them. When they fall in love, they learn that love is worth it, even if you get hurt. Vivian finds that in being loved, and returning that love, she feels validated as a person.
