Our economy is collapsing around us. We have a spend-thrift, empty suit lawyer in the White House who doesn't have a clue how to fix anything except throw money. Nancy is running the show racking up deficits beyond anyone's imagination with a congress whose religion and ticket to heaven is pork. As the country gallops full tilt to socialism, Highlands Today sees fit to pick on Rush Limbaugh in a full blown editorial piece because he says "whacky" things. Politically, you can agree or disagree with Rush. However, the man should not be demonized because he disagrees with the way our country is being run. Most of his severe critics, and probably you as well, have never listened to Rush, for if you had, you would know he is anything but "whacky." Rush is a Reagan conservative and the Republicans need more like him. ...more

Well folks, if you were non-believers before March 7, surely you have been converted. I'm referring to the front page of this paper on the above mentioned date. The headline? "Operation Hot Milk." It reported illegals stealing canned baby formula from merchants here in Florida and sending it out of the state for resale. President Obama, his empty-suit, ethics-bereft cabinet and the most liberal, left-wing Congress in the history of the Republic, have managed to decimate both the S&P and Dow Jones indices by more than 27 percent since their election last fall. ...more

According to the article "Carbon Emissions Growing Faster" in last Sunday's Tampa Tribune, Co2 emissions have been growing at 3.5 percent per year since 2000. At this rate, the increase will reach a total of 41 percent by the year's end. Since Al Gore and his so called scientists and researchers have already conclusively linked increases in Co2 emissions with that of increases in global warming, wouldn't one have expected a rather dramatic or possible even a catastrophic increase in the earth's temperature during this period? Not so, for as studies have shown and we all we know, absolutely no warming has taken place since! It's time to finally lay Gore's theory to rest. ...more
